Work With Artists

The Artist’s Vision – The Designer’s Realisation

Our work with Galleries and Museums has brought us into contact with several artists and sculptors who need their ideas made solid for Public Art commissions and exhibitions.

Realising the vision of artists is an exciting and challenging process that allows the designer the opportunity to advise on materials and engineering solutions to ensure a work is fit for purpose. This form of bespoke fabrication is a particularly satisfying branch of the design process and we welcome enquiries from architects, designers, and fine artists looking to create unique works for both the public realm and for private clients.

The images of work and work in progress below show some of Sarah Staton’s work for the Crucible Theatre refurbishment in 2010. Schimmer Child worked with Sarah on design development and project managing of the furniture elements. We also manufactured the drinks trolleys.
